Owner & Executive Chef
Chef Tim van Ee, originally from the Netherlands, is the executive chef and owner of Flavors on Fire, a cooking studio located in Katy, Texas. His culinary journey began with a passion for rustic European dishes, influenced by neighboring countries such as France, Germany, Spain, and Italy. This foundation expanded as he explored bold flavors from Asian cuisines, including Thai, Indian, and Vietnamese, during his travels. At Flavors on Fire, Chef Tim combines these diverse culinary traditions, offering hands-on cooking classes and chef's table dinners that showcase a fusion of European, Asian, and American flavors, all prepared over an open fire.

Chef Shannon Sheikhi, a seasoned culinary professional at Flavors on Fire, is known for her Turkish and Persian influences. With a rich heritage and extensive experience, she incorporates bold spices, aromatic herbs, and traditional methods into her dishes. Previously, she was executive chef at several acclaimed restaurants, honing her skills in fine dining and contemporary kitchens. At Flavors on Fire, Shannon blends her cultural background with innovative techniques, crafting vibrant, flavorful dishes that celebrate Middle Eastern cuisine with a modern twist.

Our cooking classes are fully hands-on, meaning you will cook dishes from beginning to end (we will prepare some ingredients to save you from peeling 10 carrots). Our Tasting Menu dining is an interactive dining experience, where our chefs will cook and serve out a meal for you. No dirty hands required.
To make sure as many of our customers as possible can learn and enjoy the Flavors on Fire experience, our classes and tasting menus are public (you will sit with other people). We will take bookings until our capacity fills up (maximum 15 guests).

Unfortunately we do not. We have carefully crafted a wine list and wine pairings for all of our meals, and would love you to try wines from the Old and New World. Bottles are available for purchase too.
Our dinners and classes move forward with a minimum of 6 guests. If we need to cancel or change the date of an event, we will reach out to you 48 hours in advance to discuss refunds or rebooking.
Our cooking classes include all ingredients, use of kitchen tools, instruction by one of our expert chefs, use of aprons as well as non-alcoholic beverages (water will be available).
Our passion is teaching people to cook, so you can expect to wear an apron, roll up your sleeves and get chopping, stirring, and sautéing. Participate as much or as little as you like. You will eat all the food we prepared together.
For our cooking classes, we recommend you wear comfortable, closed-toed shoes. Long hair should be tied back.
Absolutely. We have special pricing available to book our entire studio. In addition, you will be able to customize your menu, drinks and the amount of hands-on cooking you'd like to do (full hands-on full-service).

Our team members have extensive experience in working with dietary preferences and are happy to share their knowledge with you!
Please bear in mind that we can’t guarantee you will be able to taste every dish prepared in our events. Nuts, eggs, dairy, and gluten are used regularly in our kitchen—if you have severe allergies, please take this into consideration.
Yes we do - both virtual here - and in-person at the host desk at our cooking studio.
